Visitors to this year’s Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show will have several chances each day to win an incredible Heletranz heli-fishing experience.

Heletranz, the company that invented heli-fishing and still does it far better than anyone else, will every day give a number of show visitors the chance to be on board the following day’s flight to a remote fishing spot somewhere in the outer Hauraki Gulf.

'This is a really amazing promotion,' says Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show general manager Dave Gibbs. 'Virtually everyone who has ever held a fishing rod in their hand has dreamed of going heli-fishing one day. Now, thanks to Heletranz, several visitors to this year’s show are going to see their dream come true!'

Those keen to have a chance of winning of the heli-fishing experiences simply need to head to the Heletranz stand in the Hauraki Fishing Hall and fill out an entry form.

'It should be easy to find,' jokes Dave Gibbs, 'it will be the only one with a helicopter on it!'

'Each evening, after the show closes, the Heletranz team will draw out the names of the lucky winners and invite them to be on board the following morning’s spectacular heli-fishing experience.'

Heletranz CEO John Ambler explains that the boat show’s daily heli-fishing experiences will take off from Heletranz’s Rosedale base on Auckland’s North Shore.

'We will then fly out over the beautiful Hauraki Gulf to one of our secret fishing spots. There, with help from our expert heli-fishing pilot, the winners will enjoy several hours targeting the rarely-fished outer-Gulf snapper and kingfish.

'At the conclusion of the fishing, we will fly back to Auckland, landing in the middle of the Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show, so our winners can share their experiences and show off their catch. We will then fly back to our base so they can collect their vehicles and head home to friends and family.'

In addition to the daily heli-fishing prize flights, Heletranz will also be offering show goers the chance to enjoy a scenic flight over the city. These flights will take off from the show, give passengers a rare chance to see New Zealand’s biggest and most popular boat show from the air, take in the sights of the city and then land back at the show. Tickets for these special flights will be available throughout the show from the Heletranz stand.

Visitors to this year’s show will also have the chance to win other great prizes, including the incredible $100,000 Stabicraft/Yamaha grand prize package.

This includes a brand new model Stabicraft 2050 Supercab, an exceptionally-popular 150hp Yamaha four-stroke outboard and a heap of practical extras including Furuno electronics, a Fusion sound system, a Hutchwilco safety pack and a year’s worth of Club Marine insurance.

Viking Kayaks will also be giving away two $2000 kayak packages each day and those who buy their tickets on line at www.boatshow.co.nz before May 8 will also go in the draw for a $3000 Viking Profish 440 Evolution IV fishing
kayak package.

Other show highlights will include a new Big Boat Marina, showcasing a number of new boats (including Salthouse Next Generation Boats’ stunning new Corsair Euro 49); the return of big fish experts, TV stars Milan Radonich and Nathan O’Hearn from PlaceMakers Big Angry Fish; Top Catch’s free hourly Ask The Experts seminar series and New Zealand’s largest fishing supermarket, the always-popular Hauraki Fishing Hall.

For those with more of a sailing focus, Sailing Central will be the place to be with over 20 different types of sailing dinghies on display, including the popular and versatile New Zealand designed Weta sailing trimaran.

The Club Marine Discover Boating Centre will also be a highlight with a Cook Islands-themed café, five large AV screens highlighting New Zealand’s best boating locations and a wide range of displays to encourage newcomers to get into boating, enjoy the wonderful lifestyle afloat and 'live the dream'.

The Youthtown Aqua Fun Zone will also be a huge hit with the kids, with heated pools and a wide range of demonstrations and 'have a go' activities.

The show, which runs from Thursday, May 15 until Sunday, May 18 is open from 10am until 6pm daily with a late on Friday until 9pm. Admission, including a free, information-packed Show Guide, is just $20 for adults and children 16 and under get in free.
