That Was The Week That Was...
They say a week is a long time in politics, but not half as long as in ocean racing. What were you doing this time last week? Team Brunel were riding high, after a brilliant northern strategy around the Philippines had taken them into an 80 mile lead. It seemed their challenge for the overall trophy was right back on track after a poor Leg 3 – especially since overall leaders Dongfeng Race Team were all the way back in fifth place and over 90 miles behind. A week later we find Team Brunel are the boat now in fifth with a 60 mile deficit to the new leader – Dongfeng Race Team. That was the week that was...
