The Sea Rescue Sled is a man overboard rescue and retrieval solution,
created to help save lives at sea. The sled’s creator, New Zealand man
Lloyd Valentine, conceived the idea for the sled when he learnt a good
friend had died after being swept overboard because the other crew member
couldn’t lift him back onto his yacht.
Easy to deploy, the self-inflating sled has no rear transom,
enabling a fatigued MOB (or pet) to simply slide on to it. It can then be
winched back on board, cocooning the MOB securely. This solution can help
save lives. ISO quality certification and a patent on the design are
pending.
