A new chapter in the world of multihulls has just begun with the formation of the Multihull Cruising Yacht Club Inc. (MCYC).

This club has been formed to allow multihull owners (both sail and power) to liaise with others who share their passion for being on the water, from simple raft-ups to major cruising events.

It is intended to be a forum where members can interact, suggest itinerary or show expressions of interest to join in with others in all sorts of events. These include watching the foiling 50ft cats in February, joining the Heaven Can Wait 24-hour event in March, joining the Brisbane to Lady Musgrove cruise in April, sailing to Lord Howe Island in September and much more.

In Sydney, there is now a TAGS (Thursday Afternoon Go Sailing) event being held each Thursday afternoon in daylight saving and it is open to any and all sailing multihulls. One-off visitors or locals can enter and those who don't have a boat can be placed as crew. After each race, everyone meets back at the Multihull Central Marina in Annandale for a BBQ and a social drink. This itself is turning into quite an event with 20-30 multihull enthusiasts showing up each week to swap stories.

Everyone is welcome, for more information visit www.multihullcruising.org.au
