The 2019-20 Sabre Sailing Association of WA Boating Hardware WA State Championships were hosted by Perth Dinghy Sailing Club over two days on the weekend of 14th and 15th March 2020. A record fleet of 30 Sabres entered the event from five clubs.

Only one race was sailed on Saturday due to the breeze dropping out for the afternoon session. Sunday was more promising with a light 10 knot breeze swinging wildly making the race officers job very difficult to set a course on Matilda Bay.

Finally the fleet got way and three heats were sailed on Sunday. Enough heats were sailed to constitute a series.

Overall Results:

Open
1st - Scott Olsen FSC
2nd - Tony Carr PDSC
3rd - Clayton Erwin PDSC

Ladies
1st Heidi Miller PDSC
2nd - Anne Gaunt MYC
3rd - Narelle Thomas PDSC

The WA Sabre fleet is expected to expand again next season with a number of boats being built and other sailors returning to the fleet.
