Corsair Marine is thrilled to announce the successful launch of the first Corsair 880 folding trimaran.

This new from-the-ground-up model carries a huge array of advancements in design, technology and craftsmanship, while also marking a major milestone for the Corsair Marine company - which is steeped in history of building trimarans of this size. It hits the water with pre-orders standing at 22 units. Travel lockdowns pending, Corsair invites you to view the boat at a number shows in 2020 and early 2021.

Corsair became the world's most prolific builder of trimarans, partly on the back of the huge success of these 28-ft models. The size now delivers incredibly fast, stable sailing to families on a budget, and racers alike, but the combination of being easily trailerable, and with serious interior accommodation makes the boat unique. The new Corsair 880, at just shy of 29 ft actually delivers a completely new aft cabin, a beamier more spacious saloon, and a forward cabin that comfortably sleeps 2. With the saloon table lowered to its bed position, the boat sleeps 5.

For the new model, achieving a balance between honouring model features of the past, while moving the design forward is no mean feat. This new 29-footer has radically different aesthetics in both the exterior design, and interior - the interior representing a great leap forward in comfort in a truly trailerable trimaran, and the exterior setting a new style for Corsair. New naval architecture, combined with Corsairs trademark advanced construction techniques was crucial to making the new boat safer, easier to sail, and more comfortable than any predecessors. Remarkably, the de-tuned prototype boat achieved 19 knots top speed on testing day 1.
