Doyle Sails Solent is no stranger to legendary sailors joining their team and 2020 shows no sign of slowing down with Will Alloway and Nicholas ‘Nin’ O’Leary strengthening the UK based team.

People are at the core of what makes Doyle Sails tick, and while Doyle Sails has had a well-recognised presence in the UK since 1997, this team are committed to offering their experience and passion to make sailing both more enjoyable and successful for all sailors like never before. The obsession to make each individual sail the best it possibly can be is here in full force, and offers Doyle Sails the advantage.

In May 2020, Will Alloway joined Doyle Sails Solent, and will help lead the team in their support for all Solent based sailors. Will is a well-respected Grand Prix sailor transversing many classes and designs including the 49er class, Swan 50, TP52 Super Series, GC32 and M32. Notwithstanding his experience at the top end of many fleets, Will was also a valuable member of what was initially Landrover BAR Academy as they campaigned towards winning the Extreme Sailing Series, eventually becoming the skipper of the INEOS Rebels GC32 team – he also was part of the team to win the Redbull Youth America’s Cup.

This experience will help the Doyle Sails Solent team to continue to build sails for all UK sailors from Grand Prix racing yachts and club racing teams through to coastal cruisers and Superyachts and everything in between.

Alongside Will, Doyle Sails Solent is excited to announce a new partnership with Nicholas ‘Nin’ O’Leary to better serve the rapidly growing sailing industry in Ireland, a direct link to world-class knowledge and expertise, that’s never been available until today.

Nin O’Leary grew up in Cork and has sailed from the age of 5 and in the last 10 years has raced keelboats at a very high level around the world, and in between competed in his fair share of world championships. Nin comes with extensive firsthand experience with and knowledge of Doyle Sails – with a number of his Grand Prix and Superyacht campaigns being ‘powered by Doyle’.

Nin is on the pulse of Grand Prix racing, and an Irish native, so it’s no surprise that he has been a valuable part of the Vendee Globe favourite, Alex Thomson’s campaign aboard Hugo Boss. In 2017 Nin and Alex Thomson completed the Fastnet Race doublehanded where they met what could have been half of Cork at the rock in their ribs, ski boats, yachts and whatever else floated.

With experience ranging from Optimists through to helming Superyachts, and having sailed in nearly all high profile events world-wide, Nin is well placed to offer sound advice to all sailors looking to gain more knowledge and experience, while ensuring their sails are totally fit for purpose and ready to perform at their best.

A team that is complemented by the already successful trio of Peter Greenhalgh, Brian Thompson and Adrian Stead that are on hand to join your team and help make your sailing more enjoyable – their passion is real.
