North Sails today announced a multi-year partnership with Ferrari that brings together two iconic brands at the forefront of performance and innovation in sailing and motorsport.

North Sails will be the exclusive supplier of technical sailing apparel for the Ferrari Hypersail team and is named the official licensing partner for the Ferrari Hypersail replica collection.

The Ferrari Hypersail project will provide an extreme-conditions lab, enabling the apparel product teams to test and refine gear in real-world, high-stakes conditions. As part of this collaboration, North Sails, the world's leading sailmaker with a proven legacy in offshore racing, is named as a Technical Partner to Ferrari Hypersail.

"Ferrari Hypersail is a natural extension of Ferrari's racing DNA, born from the audacity to dare and the relentless drive to innovate, " says Matteo Lanzavecchia CTO of Ferrari Hypersail. "We are happy to have North Sails by our side in this challenge to redefine the limits of possible in high performance offshore sailing."

North Sails, Southern Spars, and Future Fibres have played a pivotal role in the construction of Ferrari Hypersail's groundbreaking 100-foot monohull fully-foiling yacht. In close collaboration with the Ferrari team, North Sails and Southern Spars have contributed advanced design and engineering expertise to bring Hypersail's revolutionary "Engine Above Deck" concept to life.

"This is a proud moment for the entire North Technology Group family. The Ferrari Hypersail project brings together the full depth of our expertise—from sails and spars to apparel—and showcases what's possible when world-class teams unite around a bold ambition," said Sam Watson, CEO of North Technology Group. "We look forward to shaping the future of high-performance sailing together."

North Sails will equip the cutting-edge yacht with its state-of-the-art 3Di sail technology, incorporating a specialized reefing twin-skin mainsail engineered to deliver optimal power across a range of offshore conditions. Southern Spars and Future Fibres will supply a high-performance rig and rigging system—leveraging advanced development transferred directly from the most elite projects in modern sailing.

On September 19th, North Sails presented the Team Collection to media and partners, offering an exclusive first look at the technical sailing apparel developed for the Ferrari Hypersail team. Designed to withstand the extreme weather conditions and tested directly on the water, key pieces include the Offshore Jacket, a garment designed specifically for the most demanding offshore races—where sailors can spend days in foul-weather gear and absolute reliability is essential.

Engineered in GORE-TEX® Ocean Pro, the only membrane crafted to endure the demanding conditions of the ocean while ensuring breathable comfort, it delivers maximum protection, superior waterproofing, and enhanced lightness. An innovative TightWeave™ face fabric reinforces durability, while 4DL™ durable reinforcement panels provide impervious, robust protection, making the jacket a trusted companion for even the longest and toughest crossings.

Complementing this is the Inshore Race Smock, designed for agility to meet fast-paced sailing needs. This versatile piece is gaining popularity offshore, where racing takes place in weather and conditions that can change in an instant. It delivers exceptional waterproof and breathable protection in a lightweight, flexible, and comfortable construction. Styled in a slim fit with articulated panels, it ensures maximum freedom of movement, while DuraSeal™ closures at the neck and wrists provide a secure seal against water without sacrificing comfort. The result offers uncompromising performance for demanding inshore competition.

Drawing inspiration from this technical foundation, the Replica Collection reimagines performance apparel for everyday wear. North Sails designers applied the same innovative approach to pieces crafted for life beyond sailing, blending advanced fabrics, precision design, and elevated functionality. The first apparel collection featuring the Prancing Horse will launch globally in Fall-Winter 2026.

A standout from this line will be the GP Aero Jacket—a piece that embodies the fusion of cutting-edge innovation and everyday wearability. Engineered with weight reduction as its top priority, it is officially the lightest racing jacket in the world. Its aerodynamic design minimizes drag, while advanced construction delivers highly breathable and fully waterproof protection, ensuring comfort without compromise. Every detail has been considered with performance in mind, from the streamlined silhouette to the technical fabric that balances durability with featherlight ease. More than just a garment, the GP Aero Jacket represents the transfer of elite sailing technology into lifestyle apparel.

The Ferrari Hypersail Men's Softshell Jacket is crafted from a softshell fabric made of 92% recycled polyester and 8% spandex, offering water-repellent, windproof, and breathable performance with added stretch for comfort. Inspired by North Sails' performance sailing collection, it blends advanced functionality with sleek design.

As the fully-foiling racing yacht nears completion and the racing calendar takes shape, North Sails will continue working with Ferrari Hypersail to build global awareness and showcase the project's broader innovation story.
