The Excess 14 had a beautiful showcase as the Sydney International On-Water Boat Show took place from November 13th to 16th at Darling Harbor in Australia. The display was arranged by our dealer in the country Flagstaff Marine. Micah Lane from Flagstaff Marine and Cosmas Grelon from our APAC office were onboard all that weekend to greet our customers and introduce the amazing features of the vessel. With the growing popularity of the Excess catamarans in our region, the 14 attracted a lively crowd at the show.

The Excess 14 is a cruising yacht that combines exhilarating performance with a playful design. She offers an unparalleled sailing experience, with helm stations located at the stern, providing direct contact with the rudders and a clear view of the sails. Moreover, she prioritizes comfort and modularity, ensuring a delightful living space for all onboard.

THE EXCESS FLEET, A NEW RISING FORCE AT THE TRANSATLANTIC RALLIES

Since 2020, our Excess owners have been actively taking part in the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC). At that year's edition, an Excess 15 named Binx whose owners are based in New Zealand becomes the very first Excess catamaran to cross the Atlantic, setting a courageous and inspiring example for our fellow Excess tribe members to follow the suit.

Another Excess 15 (named "Horizon Discovery") owner based in Japan, Hiroshi Hamada and his team participated ARC for two years in a row and were quite satisfied with the results and his vessel, a strong testament of Excesss superb performance at serious blue-water cruising.

Over the years, the Excess fleet has became a rising force at ARC and being easily recognized with its signature orange color and sporty style. For the fourth consecutive year, the Excess team and its service partner have been present before the departure to assist the crews with their preparations.

For the 2025 edition, 2 crews on Excess 14s are taking part in the ARC; 4 crews on Excess 11s are setting off on the ARC+.

The ARC was founded in 1986 and joins the Canary Islands to Saint Lucia over 2,700 nautical miles. The ARC+ follows the same route with a stopover in Cape Verde before arriving in Grenada, a 3,000-mile journey to take full advantage of the tradewinds.

We wish all the crews fair winds!
