Between February 18 and 22, the Clube dos Jangadeiros, in Porto Alegre, hosted the 29er Brazilian Championships. The event brought together 11 teams — including three all-female crews, one Under-16 team, and seven Under-19 teams — who competed in 15 races on the waters of Lake Guaíba.

Known for its variable conditions, the Guaíba racecourse delivered an excellent week of sailing. Regardless of rain or sunshine, winds ranging from 5.5 to 20 knots were present on every day of competition, providing technical and high-level racing.

The championship featured athletes from three Brazilian states, representing four yacht clubs: Clube dos Jangadeiros and Veleiros do Sul (RS), Iate Clube de Santa Catarina (SC), and Iate Clube do Rio de Janeiro (RJ).

Racing began on Wednesday (18) with a southerly breeze powering the fleet through three four-leg windward-leeward races. On Thursday (19), three more races were sailed in similar southerly conditions, maintaining the event's strong momentum.

Friday (20) started with sailors held ashore under AP due to weather conditions. At 1:40 pm, the postponement was lowered and three races were completed. On Saturday (21), another three races were contested, maintaining the consistency of the series. On Sunday (22), three additional races concluded the championship, bringing the total to 15 races and completing the event schedule.

Beyond the on-water action, the social program included a Happy Hour held on Friday at Regatta Café, which made its debut at the club during the event.

The prize-giving ceremony took place on Sunday (22) in the late afternoon on the island of the Clube dos Jangadeiros. On that occasion, the 2025 champions, Manoela Azevedo and Fernanda Schramm, presented the perpetual trophy to this year's champions, Zion Brandão and João Vicente Joppert.
