Round seven - 2015 WWA Wakeboard World Series The WWA
2015 WWA Wakeboard World Series – The world’s best wakeboarders have landed in beautiful Ferreira Do Zezere, Portugal for the seventh round. The conditions were awesome as the next generation of riders from all around the world took to the water yesterday as qualifying for amateur finals took place behind the industry leading Supra SE450 and SE550 Boats.

Joining the junior divisions were the Masters and Veterans of the sport, seeing an impressive number of parents competing and proving to be a true family affair. The Junior Men continued to impress and entertain fans as the former 2014 Boy’s World Champion Sam Brown of Australia and Supra Team Rider debuted in his new division and didn’t miss a beat as he took the heat win along with Johann Overneer of Great Britain in heat two. Blaine Evens of USA captured the Men’s two win, while USA’s Chad Lowe rode flawlessly behind the Supra SE550 to advance to the next round in the Pro Veterans division.

In the Girls (14-18) division, it was Chiara Virag from Italy with the impressive semifinal win over Australia’s Ashleigh Blake. Three local Portuguese women swept the Masters Women division with Ana Cunha taking the top spot.

“I couldn’t be more excited to see all three of us from Portugal advancing into the next round,” said Cunha. “I love that our beautiful country of Portugal is part of the Wakeboard World Series and we get the opportunity to ride behind the outstanding Supra SE450.”

Both Amateur Wakeskate and Women's Wakeskate continued to produce great participation and truly showed today why Portugal is so passionate about their wakeskating. The top four in AM Wakeskate advanced with the talented Daniel Braga taking the win and Joana Leitao taking the top qualifying spot in Women’s Wakeskate.

The action continues today as the remainder of the semifinal rounds finish and the final amateur rounds begin for the WWA Supra Wakeboard World Championships presented by Rockstar.
