Superior Jetties has undertaken a major photo shoot for its Waterscape pontoon and soon to be released range of Waterscape furniture, which will form part of its 2015 global marketing campaign.
Following its 2014 launch at Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, Waterscape by Superior is poised to branch out to new markets such as the architecture, design and property sectors.
The three-day shoot represents the biggest marketing exercise Superior has undertaken in its 26 year history and was a massive logistical exercise involving 'a cast of thousands' – models, make-up artist, stylist, videographer, director, photographer, a houseboat full of props including scuba gear, octopus and a couple of fish, champagne on ice and a superbly crafted Riva.
There were also support craft in the form of a BRIG RIB from Sirocco Marine North and R Marine Crawley, a Quintrex runabout courtesy of Broadwater Boating Centre and various barges. These were ably manned by Superior personnel towing the Waterscape pontoon into just the right position to catch the best light and backdrop at the picturesque locations of Jumpinpin and The Bedrooms off South Stradbroke Island.
After two weeks of rain, the tail end of Cyclone Marcia, skies cleared to provide the perfect, vivid blue above (just as predicted by Roger 'Clouds' Badham), and not a jellyfish to be seen in the waters below.
From the break of day, when the yoga series was shot, through the morning when diving, spear fishing, golfing, entertaining and sunbaking were captured, to finish on a romantic sunset interlude on the LED-lit Waterescape, the shoot captured the many moods and uses for this covetable lifestyle accessory.
The sand dunes were ideal for the furniture sequence, proving a dazzling setting to show off the brilliant white pieces with ice-blue cushions, not to mention the svelte forms of models, Brooke, Michelle and Aaron.
After 15 hour days, the crew were pleased to overnight at nearby Couran Cove where they enjoyed hospitality and hearty food at the island resort’s restaurant.
From the initial images, already bombarding social media, feedback is unanimous: 'I just want one!' 'The waterfront must-have' and 'better than a boat' are just some of the comments the photos have garnered in just a few days in circulation.
The Waterscape campaign and catalogue will soon follow, once shot selection, post-production and creative concepts are devised by the photographer, Florian Groehn, director, Alexander Lotersztain from Derlot, and creative agency, Ps in a Pod.
'It was a massive undertaking,' said John Hogan, Superior CEO. 'Thanks to very meticulous planning for about a month prior, it all went according to plan. Everybody involved did a brilliant job. The entire production team worked in synch – it was a pleasure to watch them work together and see it all come to life.
'What we are producing is a world-class branding campaign for a world-class product.'
Created by John Hogan and designer, Alexander Lotersztain at Derlot Pty Ltd, Waterscape is a world-first commercial and domestic adaptive floating system (AFS) patented and launched in Australia.
As Hogan explained, Waterscape shines the spotlight on the 'water appeal' of a home or venue.
'Waterscape is visually arresting and innovative in its versatility,' explains Hogan. 'It adds another dimension to waterfront living and entertaining and we see a myriad of applications for yacht clubs, marina precincts, luxury homes and hotels. Anywhere there is a body of still water, Waterscape will extend the usage and enjoyment of the on-water experience.'
In October 2014, Waterscape by Superior won the Excellence in Innovation Award at the 2014 International Superyacht Society (ISS) Awards of Distinction in Fort Lauderdale.
'Our mantra is ‘Walk on Water’ which is what we’ve achieved in every facet of our company,' explained Hogan. 'Waterscape is the ultimate expression of this.'
The Waterscape range of rotomoulded plastic furniture will launch at the Marine15 conference on the Gold Coast, 2 to 5 May, before being on show at Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, followed by the Monaco Yacht Show in September and METS Amsterdam in November.
'We believe this versatile, durable and stylish furniture will be in demand by Yacht Clubs, hotels, resorts, superyachts, cruise ships and home owners,' said Hogan. 'Made of a medium density polyethylene, the Waterscape product line is UV resistant and will not corrode. Each piece is interlocking and can be used for storage, as an ice chest or planter box.'
