Northern New Zealand’s Whangarei Harbour is expanding as a
Marine Hub of the South Pacific with a new 113 berth marina under
construction.
The new marina will be a sister to the extremely popular marina in the
city’s Town Basin amongst world cruising yachts. Berth licences are
selling now for the new site which is also extremely sheltered from wind
and wave motion.
Being in the center of Northland's cruising grounds, it is close to the
spectacular sailing and fishing of Great Barrier Island, The Bay of
Islands, Auckland and Whangarei Harbour. It is walking distance from the
restaurants, shopping and entertainment of Whangarei's Town Basin, and
just 9 minutes to the airport. Six competitively priced boat yards and a
great selection of marine services surround it.
The Charitable Non-Profit Trust, along with their long serving management
staff, take pride in allocating excess income as grants to the region’s
water sports - such as the Rowing Club, Sea Scouts, Waka ama, and Youth
Sailing Teams.
