Rick Youmans has harboured a passion for creating things ever since he
was young, whether it’s art, architecture or design.
Rick has always been inspired by Turner’s way of painting the light, and
by Montague Dawson’s stunning seascapes, which has led him to explore the
excitement, colour, drama, serenity and seductiveness of the sea in his
art.
He endeavours to express the very essence of what inspires him while
evoking personal interpretation with both his designs and paintings.
Rick has exhibited in New Zealand and Australia with paintings sold in
Singapore, England and America.
Rick and the sea
Rick has been involved in sailing and the sea since a young
age, and this involvement has continued throughout his life. This
background has equipped him with knowledge, experience, and artistic
marine abilities.
This allows him to incorporate a vessel’s reference in different scenarios
and sea conditions, creating paintings that evoke deep feelings and
reflect the client’s unique experiences.
