New York Yacht Club American Magic, Challenger for the 36th America's Cup, today announced that TSI Incorporated, an industry leader in the design and production of precision measurement instruments and solutions, has joined the campaign as a Team Partner. The America's Cup is the oldest event in international sports and the highest prize in sailing. The next edition will take place in Auckland, New Zealand, in March of 2021.

"We are proud to have TSI join American Magic, and to have their support as we work to win back the Cup for the United States," said Terry Hutchinson, Skipper and Executive Director of American Magic. "TSI and American Magic share many values, including a commitment to developing high performance systems driven by accurate measurement and cutting-edge data analysis. Our two teams work hard every day to solve problems and create solutions that have never been seen before, and so to me, this is a natural partnership."

TSI's history of delivering high-end engineering projects dates back over half a century. In the early 1970's, TSI instruments were sent to Mars aboard the Viking 1 and 2 spacecraft, the first successful probe missions to that planet. In the years that followed, TSI's list of projects, products and cutting-edge solutions has spread into fields as diverse as environmental studies, healthcare, HVAC, manufacturing, occupational health and safety, and more.

"TSI is excited to partner with the American Magic team and support their quest to regain the Cup. Our expertise in fluid mechanics will help optimize the performance of the American Magic boats," said Dr. Tom Kennedy, President of TSI Incorporated. "Additionally, our participation in nanoparticle research gives us a unique perspective into new and advanced materials for the sailing industry."

American Magic will conduct testing and training on its groundbreaking AM38 and AC75 boats in Rhode Island and Florida during the fall and winter of 2020 before competing at its first regatta, the America's Cup World Series Sardinia (April 23-26, 2020) in Italy. Competing teams from the U.S., Italy, and Great Britain will relocate to America's Cup host nation New Zealand in mid-to-late 2020, and participate in the Challenger Finals, the Prada Cup, in early 2021 in Auckland. The 36th America's Cup Presented by Prada (March 6-21, 2021) will also take place in Auckland, and will feature the team that wins the Prada Cup and the Defender, Emirates Team New Zealand.
