We hope that this newsletter meets you safe and thriving wherever you are. Here in Antigua, the Sailing Week Team are hard at work planning ASW 2021.

With some modifications to our usual social programs we will be able to conduct safe, competitive racing during the week of April 24 - 30, in fact our provisional schedule has been set and we have 70 entries which include some rolled over from last year.

We make all plans with YOU in mind, so we are also collaborating with other regional regattas via the Caribbean Sailing Association to discuss viable measures to allow a level of safe enjoyment once daily racing is completed. Together we have designed a survey to assess the interest of participants worldwide and regionally to race in Caribbean Regattas in the 2021 season.

We would appreciate it if you could take a moment to complete the survey here.

Over the upcoming period, we plan to continue sharing updates over our many communication channels. We'd love to hear about measures you've experienced in other events that heightened your sense of safety. Please free to share those ideas with our logistics team for consideration.

If you've already made a decision to join us at ASW we would appreciate if you can enter as soon as a decision is made as this will assist us in our planning. If you have entered or plan to and would like to pay for your entry, payments up January 3rd, 2021 are US$11 per foot, except Club Class which is US$7 per foot.

Notice of Race now online

The 2021 Notice of Race is now available and racing enthusiasts worldwide are invited to compete in the 53rd edition of Antigua Sailing Week from April 25 to April 30, 2021. For details, please review the Notice of Race.

The Peters and May Round Antigua Race is also scheduled for April 24 and that Notice of Race will be available in short order.

Are you a friend of ASW yet?

The Friends of ASW fundraising campaign continues and as token of our appreciation we are creating a custom printed t-shirt to share with everyone who has extended the gesture of friendship with a donation. We are grateful to the individuals who have pledged their support so far. If you missed the initial fundraising launch, there are still opportunities to give as CHASE supporters and corporate regatta supporters.

Peters & May monthly transport from USA

Great news for US based readers who are seriously contemplating spending the 2021 winter season in safe Caribbean waters. Two shippings are already scheduled from Newport in November and December - both with loading in Bahamas and Florida Keys. See the complete itinerary on website.

Frequent and regular sailings are a first for the industry, find out more about the parties making it happen.

You can also find the schedule from Northern Europe and the Med to the Caribbean/USA are available on website.

Should you be looking to ship your yacht or container elsewhere, there are a variety of options which could be perfect for you. Check out the Peters & May Carrier website to view global sailings.

New from the Road to 2021

Delightfully, this summer we were able to execute our marketing campaign Road to 2021 in select markets - United Kingdom and Germany.

In July, the United Kingdom guidance allowing a Return to Sailing enabled ASW to continue our collaboration with the Royal Southern Yacht Club during an abridged Summer Series by being co-sponsors with Land Union and North Sails of the September Regatta held on the 19 - 20.

During the Land Union Regatta, the only executed event of the Summer Series since the Covid implemented shutdown, over 40 teams were allowed to race with a reduced or limited crew with social distancing. All of the racing, race management and facilities ashore were safely organised in line with the UK Government and RYA guidance on Covid -19.

IRC1 winner, the Cape 31, Tokoloshe 3 received an impressive range of prizes, a trip to Berlin for the whole crew, included flights and world class hotel accommodation, courtesy of Land Union. Tokoloshe 3 was also the Overall Summer Series winner taking the magnificent Antigua Sailing Week prize of free dockage and entry to the 2021 edition of Antigua Sailing Week (24-30 April).

Tokoloshe's Dave Bartholomew - the winner of the grand prize has a history with Antigua Sailing Week and remarked "Both myself and my father have been to Antigua Sailing Week before and it's a fantastic regatta. This weekend has been great racing, we were lucky enough to get excellent weather, it has been an absolute blast!"

In Germany, with the help of our friends at KH+P Yacht Charter and the Württembergischer Yacht-Club, the 2nd Antigua Barbuda Challenge was held on the weekend of September 26-27 during the Interboot International Boat Show.

After an extremely windy 1st day which caused a modified racing schedule, the J70's were able to get out and engage in some tough competition on beautiful Lake Constance. The small crews of 2 - 4 provided the perfect opportunity to race in a manner in line with the COVID-19 safety protocols.

The SUI 287 team from Switzerland took the first place honours while the team from the host club WYC - winners in 2019 -achieved third place on Mothership. The Suisse team will receive free entry to ASW 2021 along with VIP access to scheduled private events. All podium finishers received bottles of English Harbour five year old Rum and copies of The first 50 Years along with other generous prizes. There was also a special prize for best female crew.

We look forward to these new winners joining the winners from from the Road to 2020 to our regatta next April 24 - 30.
