Kingston, ON, will play host to approximately over 160 sailors, August 9-12, as they will be taking part in the ILCA 4 (Laser 4.7) and ILCA 6 (Laser Radial) competitions of Sail Canada's 2021 Youth Championships.

Held by CORK, this event will welcome athletes of 19 years old and younger coming from across the country, including from Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Quebec. They will aim to get a spot and represent Canada at the Youth World Championships to be held in December in Oman.

To ensure the safety of the sailors who will be taking part in the competition, the event will be held in accordance with the public health and social measures that are in place.

Sail Canada Youth Championships usually includes the i420, Club 420, ILCA 4 (Laser 4.7), ILCA 6 (Laser Radial) and 29er classes at one event. But this year, due to Covid restrictions and precautions to be followed, the competition will take place as a series of smaller events.

The Championships for the Club 420 event were held July 26-29. The 29er event will take place August 18-22 in Kingston.

Races for the Youth Championships in the ILCA 4 (Laser 4.7) and ILCA 6 (Laser Radial) classes will start Monday, August 9, and will continue until Thursday, August 12, inclusively.
