While long-known for having a progressive approach to technology, the introspective moments of 2020 and 2021 have seen New Zealand's marine industry take innovation and run with it.

A category-leading remotely operated vehicle and game-changing Multibeam Sounder technology are just some of the products to discover when the New Zealand marine industry brings its hive of innovation to METS next week.

With 12 New Zealand companies represented at the world's largest marine trade show, held in Amsterdam, 16-18th November, visitors to the New Zealand and Superyacht Pavilions can expect to see the surprising effects the last couple of years have had on the southern hemisphere nation's marine sector. While long-known for having a progressive approach to technology, the introspective moments of 2020 and 2021 have seen New Zealand's marine industry take innovation and run with it.

METS' international audience who visit the New Zealand stand can look forward to high performance products that move the industry forward in effectiveness and performance, while retaining the country's signature approach to sustainability.

In the Superyacht Pavilion, ENL will have a true game changer on display. WASSP™ Multibeam Sounder technology is a new technology with the ability to profile the seabed 100 times faster than single beam echo sounders, allowing users to see what's beneath the boat with accuracy and resolution unlike ever before, at a significantly reduced cost. With the WASSP 3D mapping in real-time, accurate profiles encompassing 120 degrees port-to-starboard of the water column and seafloor can be made with unparalleled precision to reveal artefacts, fish, wrecks, and foreign objects.

In the New Zealand Pavilion, Hall 2, global leader in underwater foul release coatings, Propspeed will present its products, including an ultra-slick topcoat, specially formulated to prevent marine growth from bonding to metal surfaces below the waterline, and proven to increase boat efficiency, protect against corrosion, reduce drag, and save fuel and maintenance costs.

Boxfish Research creates remotely-operated vehicles (ROV) which have revolutionised the market. Capable of capturing full-frame 4K ProRes RAW video at 30 frames per second, with patented active stabilisation and eight 3D-vectored thrusters, Boxfish has expanded the possibilities for humans to understand, experience and work within the underwater world.

HamiltonJet has taken a future-ready approach to its waterjet models. Supplying models from 270kW up to 5,500 kW in power, it's using smart control technology to keep crews and vessels safe, improve decision making, efficiency and productivity and future-proof investment. Its systems are modular and scalable, with the company also using its expertise to integrate hybrid electric technology into vessels around the globe.

New Zealand Pavilion exhibitor, Fusion's stand has become a notable one over the years. Connoisseurs of quality sound flock to Fusion, which provides award-winning marine audio equipment purpose-built to deliver exceptional audio in the harshest marine environments.

Award-winning composite manufacturer, TruDesign has launched a 3" Ball Valve Range fittings for the larger end of the Seacock market. The range is ultra light weight, while delivering strength and remaining corrosion-free; made from composite materials, they are ISO 9093-2 and ABYC-H27 compliant.

Known for reframing the panel mounting process, Fastmount has innovated again with its new Stratlock Rail System. The Stratlock Rail System provides boatbuilders with a complete, integrated and purpose-built system for building deckhead and wall framework substrates to attach interior paneling to.

With the ability to make an uneven wall or ceiling perfectly level, and limitless construction possibilities, Connect with Fastmount and other New Zealand companies and their innovations including C-Tech, Manta5, ecostore and Lloyd Stevenson Boat builders, at the New Zealand stand in the New Zealand pavilion, while fellow Kiwi exhibitors C-Quip, and ENL/WASSP will be on show in the Superyacht Pavilion, Hall 7.
