The Bermuda Race Organizing Committee (BROC) has named Castle Hill Inn—the iconic Relais and Châteaux property on Newport's Ocean Drive—as the newest Official Sponsor of the 2022 Race.

With its sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean and Narragansett Bay, combined with its nautical history and world-class service, Castle Hill Inn offers luxury accommodations, fine and casual dining, an on-site spa, and the perfect vantage point to watch the start the 52nd running of the Newport Bermuda Race.

"Castle Hill has always been a spectacular setting for our race spectators, and I am very pleased to see them come aboard and partner with the race in 2022," said Somers Kempe, chairman of the Bermuda Race Organizing Committee.

Castle Hill Inn's nautical heritage is built into its very grounds. The historic Lighthouse located on-property not only serves as a beacon for ships navigating Narragansett Bay, but as the starting and finish line for many of Newport's famous yachting races and regattas, including the Bermuda Race. The flagpole on The Lawn at Castle Hill is a replica of the mast and rigging used on the 1905 Herreshoff NY-30 class sailing yachts, designed from archived blueprints from a 1917 vintage NY-30.

With the Castle Hill Lighthouse marking the start of the Newport Bermuda Race again this year, sailing enthusiasts, fans and onlookers will gather on The Lawn at Castle Hill on June 17, 2022, to enjoy panoramic views of the ocean and watch each class of sailboats commence the 635nm race to Bermuda. With its close proximity to Fort Adams, where registration and other race-related events will take place, Castle Hill Inn is the perfect place to stop for a cocktail, bite to eat, or relaxing spa treatment for sailors and their shore crew of friends and family in town.

"Newport is world-renowned for its unparalleled sailing and yachting opportunities, and we're proud to be at the center of that," said Brian Young, Managing Director of Castle Hill Inn. "We are very excited to be the official luxury hospitality sponsor of the 2022 Newport Bermuda Race, and look forward to hosting sailors, their families and fans this June."

Combining the elegance of a boutique hotel with the inviting comforts of a coastal inn, Castle Hill Inn offers lodging options to suit the needs and preferences of all guests. Accommodations include seven guest rooms and suites in the original 19th century Agassiz Mansion and 26 private waterfront accommodations in the Harbor House, Chalet, Beach Houses and Beach Cottages, all just steps from the private beach. Amenities available in many rooms include oversized soaking tubs, steam showers, crackling fireplaces and wet bars, characterizing the relaxed luxury that defines a stay at Castle Hill Inn.

Guests and visitors alike can pamper themselves with luxurious face and body treatments at The Retreat at Castle Hill by Farmaesthetics, the Inn's intimate boutique spa, offering products and services that reflect the tenets of classic herbal formulation. From fine dining in The Dining Room at Castle Hill, to regional cuisine, fresh seafood and seasonal cocktails on The Lawn, dining at Castle Hill Inn is as much a tradition as it is an experience. Guests can also create custom itineraries with Castle Hill's wealth of onsite experiences, including sailing, stargazing, clambakes, bonfires, games on the lawn, and more.

Guests eager to get out on the water themselves can enjoy a sunset sail from the marina docks, charter a private Hinckley yacht through Castle Hill Inn's partnership with another official sponsor of the race, Barton & Gray Mariners Club. Or they can take the water taxi to-and-from downtown.
