The Viking Difference consists of a myriad of qualities that make our 57-year-old company the No. 1 semi-production boatbuilder of sportfishing yachts in the world.

Strong relationships with a group of innovative engine manufacturers stand out as an important part of the Viking Difference. This Viking View is dedicated to showing you several of the propulsion packages offered throughout our lineup, such as the 68 Convertible powered with Caterpillar's new 2433MHP C32B engines. The four-stateroom battlewagon tops out at 43.6 knots and cruises at 39 knots with these triple-turbo powerplants.

The most powerful engine we currently offer is the MTU 16V 2000 M96L, which packs 2,635 metric horsepower. The Viking 72, the Viking 80 as well as the new Viking 90 are all powered with twin configurations of this 16-cylinder beast of an engine. The 72 hits a top speed of 45-plus knots, while the Viking 80 exceeds 40 knots.

MAN engines are offered in no fewer than 12 different Viking models from 46 to 72 feet. The Viking 54, powered with twin MAN V12 1550CRMs, hits a top speed of 40-plus knots and cruises in the mid-30-knot range.

The Cummins QSB 6.7 550MHP diesel is a workhorse, providing plenty of reliable giddy-up for our 38 Billfish. The 46 Billfish is now offered with the Swedish-built Scania 900s, distributed by Mack Boring based in Somerset, New Jersey. Cummins and MAN engines are also available for this model.
