Doyle Sails International announces powerhouse partnership with Seagull Sails, owned and operated by world-renowned, professional sailors Kyle Langford and David Gilmour. The alliance will see the pair deliver Doyle sails to both the Swedish and global Grand Prix/Superyacht markets.

Kyle and David are joined by brand ambassadors Kinley Fowler and Tom Johnson, all boasting equally impressive resumes, with the group forming an international team of sailors who stand out with their passion for yachting, sense of humour and drive to stay at the forefront of sailing.

While the four travel the world with their professional sailing, their loft is in Gothenburg, Sweden with a significant presence also in Stockholm. Their range of local services include sailmaking, rigging, a composite factory and coaching/mentorship. A perfect union between two brands that share a similar philosophy to deliver the highest quality products and services.

While working with Doyle Sails, Seagull Sails will continue to manufacture and distribute their eye-catching merchandise under their brand name and dont be surprised if you see their trademark yellow seagull on the clew of any of their sails.

Kyle Langford grew up in Lake Macquarie in New South Wales, home to some of Australias greatest sailors. Kyle knew he wanted to spend his life on the water and pursue a career in sailing from an early age. He began to prove himself at national and international levels when he was just a teenager, and in 2005, he won the gold medal in the multihull class at the Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championships in Korea and subsequently was voted Australian Youth Sailor of the Year in 2006.

In 2013 Kyle joined the ORACLE TEAM USA sailing team and went on to win the 34th Americas Cup, before continuing with the team for the 2017 campaign in Bermuda. Alongside various high profile multihull and monohull campaigns, Kyle has also endured a Volvo Ocean Race, finishing third with Team Brunel in the 2017-18 edition.

In 2019 Kyle placed second in the hotly contested Moth World Championship in Perth, and 4th place in the 2021 event in Lake Garda, Italy. Kyle is currently part of the successful Australian SailGP Team; winning both season one and season two as wing trimmer onboard the Roo.

I have had a great relationship with Doyle Sails over the last few years, racing and working with them on everything from Moths to Supermaxis and witnessed their Structured Luff technology and the direct increase in performance first hand. We are excited to join the Doyle team and look forward to introducing their products to our local fleets in Sweden as well as Grand Prix boats globally."
Kyle Langford

David Gilmour, son of Australian legendary Americas Cup sailor Peter Gilmour, grew up around boats and began sailing at 7 years old at his local club in Perth, Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club. Moving through the youth classes with many successes including representing Australia at the ISAF Youth Worlds in 2009. Gilmour followed in his fathers footsteps moving into the Match Racing circuit winning titles in Australia and offshore while campaigning for the Olympic 49er class from 2010 through 2020.

We are incredibly excited to join the Doyle. It has been impressive to see Doyle Sails revolutionise sailmaking over the past decade and place them where they are today producing high performance, market-leading sails. We look forward to offering the high-quality products and service Doyle Sails are known for around the world here in Sweden, a place where sailing is a national pastime."
David Gilmour
Doyle Sails International CEO, Mike Sanderson commented on the partnership, "I have followed David and Kyles careers since they were young fellas on the World Match Racing Tour. Kyle, I have had the luxury of sailing many miles with on Comanche and I am old enough to say that I have match raced against Davids father Peter, hundreds of times twenty plus years ago!! These guys have gone from strength to strength in so many sailing disciplines and I am looking forward to working with them both. Kyle and David are as skilled at sailing boats in the water as they are at flying them above it, and the whole Doyle team are really looking forward to their youthful enthusiasm and the next generation of expert skills joining our already talented team."

Gilmour and Langford joined forces to start up their own marine company based in Sweden, where they have both settled with their friends and families. The addition of these two sales and service lofts in Stockholm and Gothenburg, see the global network of Doyle Sails lofts grow to 56 lofts.
