Founder of Armstrong Foils, Armie Armstrong, walks through the technical features that make the new Carving Free-ride (CF V2) range ideal for progressing riders across a variety of foiling disciplines.
"The new release Carbon Freeride V2range is really exciting for us," says Armstrong Foils co-founder Armie Amstrong.
"It's taken us back to the beginning. We started with the CF range, which was where the brand began. Now we are at the next generation.
"This range has always been about stability. The confidence-inspiring stability has been improved significantly, as well as the speed range with these foils. That means it's more stable for people to get into when wing, wake or surf foiling.
"If you are in your first year of foiling, you will progress faster and have more fun. We've improved the feeling of freedom through the turns for which our foils are renowned.
"For the more experienced foilers, the CF V2's confidence-inspiring stability allows you to really push yourself in critical situations.
"We've designed these foils with a diverse range of CFD, Foil, CAD and all sorts of experts. We bring them in to help us develop all of the critical parameters, and quite a few really allow the foils to do what we intend them to do.
"We start with plan form - where we look at the straight outline of the foil. That determines how all the parameters come together, such as the chord percentage thicknesses, the sweep and the taper."
