Join us onboard MY Lady Lene with seven movies made during the Cannes boat show.

The tri-deck explorer Lady Lene is the subject of the video you can watch here. Two of the key players in her creation at our yard - general manager Bram Kooltjes and head of sales and marketing Yoeri Bijker - talk with Paul Flannery, COO of the International Yacht Brokers Association (IYBA), about Lady Lene and how she stands out in the current premium motoryacht market.

Carla Guilhem Design - 'The inside story on Lady Lene'

This exclusive video recorded during the Cannes Yachting Festival takes you onboard the 34-metre explorer Lady Lene. Join Carla Guilhem Design managing partner Samuel Artmann and Carla Guilhem herself on the lounge sofas as they share their insights on the uniquely elegant style of the yacht's interior. Van der Valk sales manager Yoeri Bijker also joins the conversation to explain how the close cooperation involved in the design and engineering of Lady Lene required a different approach from the yard during the build process. As previously unseen footage of the interior makes clear, the results really do speak for themselves.

Diana Yacht Design - 'New heights of excellence'

New heights of excellence: Join Diana Yacht Design's creative director and chief naval architect onboard the Van der Valk explorer Lady Lene in this short film. Hans-Maarten Bais reveals how his close cooperation with fellow naval architect Jaron Ginton helped speed up a complex project and push them both to new heights. Talking of which, we hear how the exceptionally high ceilings on Lady Lene were achieved along with complete wheelchair accessibility. Hans-Maarten also gives a fascinating insight into how the construction of bespoke builds can change mid-project... And the effect that can have on his weekends. Watch and learn why experience is essential when working on a fully custom project like Lady Lene.

Guido de Groot Design - 'Watch in wonder'

Watch in wonder as designer Guido de Groot Design recreates on camera his first sketches for the explorer Lady Lene. Part of an interview filmed at the recent Cannes Yachting Festival, Guido showcases the art of multi-tasking too as he describes how this elegant 34-metre explorer met the owners' requests in terms of ceiling heights, wheelchair access and much more besides. This short movie also reinforces what an amazing achievement it was for Van der Valk and everyone else involved to complete such a project in 23 months. See for yourself...

Jaron Ginton - 'The Naval Architect'

Given carte blanche by the owners of the custom superyacht Lady Lene to design the best possible hull, naval architect Jaron Ginton explains in this short film how the wave-piercing bow, unique rudder placement and concave shaping ensured a superior performance, excellent efficiency and first-class noise attenuation. He also reveals how the Hull Vane transom wing reduces resistance and flattens stern waves. Expertly built by Van der Valk, Lady Lene even goes three knots faster than the original spec. See how here...

Hull Vane - 'The Hull Vane Explained'

This short interview filmed onboard Lady Lene during the Cannes boat show explores how the owners sought and found the ideal solution to ensure the most comfortable ride possible on their 34-metre masterpiece. Sales director Pieter Duzijn reveals how the sophisticated Hull Vane appendage has enhanced seakeeping and given significant fuel savings. You'll also get an exclusive chance to view Lady Lene's hull out of the water and discover how Van der Valk and naval architect Jaron Ginton leveraged on the rich experience gained on previous projects to ensure superior stability and speed.

Captain - 'This is the captain speaking'

Step inside the space-age bridge onboard the 34-metre custom superyacht Lady Lene in the company of her skipper. After a summer season spent sailing the Med, Captain Guilherme shares the inside story on how he and the owners are finding life on this innovative Van der Valk explorer. He also shows how the helm works and explains the futuristic thinking behind the screens, security systems and more. Describing relations with the yard as his "best to date", Guilherme reveals how Lady Lene is performing on the high seas in this unique behind-the-scenes movie.
