The Australian International Marine Export Group and Superyacht Australia are pleased to release the full conference program for their upcoming ASMEX 2023 Superyacht Conference. The one-day conference will be held at the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove Resort on Tuesday May 23, preceding the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show later the same week.

Top billing goes to the two Keynote Speakers travelling to Australia to address conference delegates. Mohammed Alshaali, Chairman, Gulf Craft will discuss the development and global expansion of Gulf Craft over the past four decades, from a modest builder of small fishing boats to the builder of award-winning luxury superyachts, including the world's largest composite-built production superyacht. The chairman will also share his own personal career journey from international diplomat to a leader in the global yachting industry.

Erin Ackor, President, International Superyacht Society (ISS) and Partner at Moore & Co., P.A., Miami, Florida will introduce ISS and their upcoming plans and projects to expand their international membership to strengthen their position as the single industry voice for issues affecting the yachting marketplace globally.

Two distinctive panels feature in the program. 'The Case for Lithium Batteries' will focus on the use of lithium batteries aboard new build vessels. Speakers Matt Ruwald, Allmarine Power Solutions; Kyle Davison, Riviera; Craig Elliot, Australian Maritime Safety Authority; and Steve Connolly, Nautical Risk Solutions will present and discuss their on-the-ground first-hand experience on how the use of lithium batteries in new builds has been a game-changer.

The 'Transformation Towards Net-Zero: The Journey begins on the Great Barrier Reef' will discuss the challenges of working towards a zero-emission tourism vessel on the Great Barrier Reef, in a pilot project partnership with Volvo Penta Australia. Speakers Owner/Operators Perry Jones and Taryn Agius from Cairns Premium Reef and Island Tours will be joined by Gavin Rooney, Volvo Penta Australia.

Back by popular demand Peter Munckton, Chief Economist, Bank of Queensland will once again open the speaker sessions by 'taking the temperature' of Australia's economy putting the current stresses and strains in the economy into perspective for attendees from the marine industry

Captain Michael Gooding will also join the speaker line up this year to present on the discovery of Montevideo Maru's final resting place off the coast of the Philippines, with not-for-profit Silentworld Foundation leading the expedition with deep-sea specialists, Fugro.

David Good, CEO of Superyacht Australia, will deliver a presentation on the latest figures related to superyacht visitation in Australia, as well as provide insights on future growth trends within the industry.

"The addition of international keynote speakers, Mohammed Alshaali and Erin Ackor will bring a wealth of industry knowledge from different corners of the globe to our conference," said David Good, CEO of Superyacht Australia. "We are grateful to our sponsors and partners for their generous support, without which this event would not be possible.

With a program packed with insights from industry leaders speaking on the latest developments in the superyacht industry in Australia and globally, ASMEX 2023 is not to be missed.

Registration for the ASMEX 2023 Superyacht Conference is open and attendees can register on the official website here: www.asmex-conference.com.au/registration.
