Ocean Alexander unveils the 28L: A new entry in the legend series

by Alexander Marine Australia 6 Sep 2024 18:21 NZST

Alexander Marine as exclusive importers of Ocean Alexander Yachts in Australia and New Zealand is proud to announce the debut of the 28L, the newest addition to Ocean Alexander's acclaimed Legend series. Set to launch at the 2024 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and designed by the renowned Evan Marshall, the 28-meter yacht offers a blend of innovative design, spacious comfort, and luxurious finishes, setting a new standard for an entry-level yacht into the Legend series.

The 28L was inspired by the desire to offer a yacht that combines the signature features and styling of the successful 32L with a more accessible entry point to the Ocean Alexander brand.

"We wanted to create a yacht that offers many of the features of her larger sister, while introducing new elements that enhance the family-friendly experience," said Marshall.

A standout feature of the 28L is its main deck forward dining room, which is seamlessly connected to a spacious and open galley. This unique arrangement allows for both a formal and informal dining experience when desired and can be partitioned with the use of an elegant pocket door system.

The 28L boasts an ample main saloon complete with a stunning entertaining bar area, perfect for socialising and entertaining guests. The expansive sky lounge provides spectacular visibility and direct access to the yacht's large exterior aft deck, which features an alfresco dining/lounge area, a buffet bar & BBQ, with ample space for sun loungers.

In terms of materials and finishes, the 28L introduces Ocean Alexander's new Eden Dusk and Eden Mist interior styling. This luxurious design includes real wood veneers, exclusive Italian leathers, and premium loose furniture from internationally renowned brands such as Poltrona Frau, Piliform, Loom, Foglizzo leathers, and Cambria Stones.

Ocean Alexander continues to prioritize sustainability in its yacht manufacturing process. Since 2014, the company has installed solar power systems on the manufacturing factory rooftops, generating over 3 million kWh annually, surpassing the company's total electricity consumption for the year. In turn, their yacht construction emphasizes eco-friendly materials, including TABU wood veneer, which is carbon-neutral. Additionally, this is true with their collaborators - like Poltrona Frau's furniture production using renewable energy and adhering to a "Zero Waste" initiative.

Alexander Marine Dealer Principal / Director for Australia and New Zealand said: "The 28 Legend model is ideal for Australian boat owners who prefer an owner operated vessel they can captain themselves, whilst still having the option to crew the yacht if the need arises".

The 28L is designed for discerning buyers looking for a yacht under 100' that does not compromise on luxury over function. It caters to families, adventure seekers, and yachting enthusiasts who value both informal and formal time on the water, spacious social areas, and the comfort of a meticulously crafted interior.
