Winner of the Women's iQFOiL windsurfing competition, Great Britain's Emma Wilson has been crowned outright champion of 54 Trofeo Princesa Sofía Mallorca by FERGUS Hotels. She received the trophy after her results across the regatta produced the highest score in the formula that is used to compare the relative performances of the gold medal winners across all 10 racing categories.

Wilson's triumph is the finishing touch to one of the best performances by the British team in the history of the prestigious regatta in Mallorca. Great Britain accumulated a total of nine medals in this edition, five of them gold.

In addition to Emma Wilson, Michael Beckett, the British sailor who achieved his fourth consecutive victory in ILCA 7, and the young Singaporean Max Maeder, winner of the past three editions of the Princess Sofia Trophy in Formula Kite men, were especially applauded at the awards ceremony.

Wilson's overall win is the crowning glory for a dominant performance across the board by Great Britain. The British sailors won nine medals across the 10 categories, and five of those were gold.

The 54 Trofeo Princesa Sofía Mallorca by FERGUS Hotels is jointly organised by the Club Nàutic S'Arenal, the Club Marítimo San Antonio de la Playa, the Real Club Náutico de Palma, the Real Federación Española de Vela and the Federación Balear de Vela, with the support of World Sailing, and is co-financed by the Govern de les Illes Balears' Sustainable Tourism Tax fund.
