Sialia Yachts, builder of a range of highly advanced performance electric yachts from 40 to 100 feet (13 to 30 metres), has appointed Marco Plicchi as Chief Operating Officer. This strategic move strengthens the company's leadership team and reinforces its commitment to executing a long-term strategic vision.

As COO of Sialia Yachts, Marco Plicchi will oversee all production processes and lead the development of new products and model lines. His mission is to enhance operational efficiency, drive technological innovation, and ensure the highest standards of product quality as the company continues its expansion into sustainable, next-generation yacht manufacturing.

This appointment marks a significant step forward in the brand's journey of growth and innovation, as it aims to redefine the zero-emission yachting industry.

The company is in the final stages of production of a new model: the fully electric Sialia 45 yacht (max speed 43 knots and the largest range in its class), which is set to launch in June 2025, with its world debut scheduled for the Cannes Yachting Festival (September 9-14, 2025).

Background and experience

Marco Plicchi is a highly accomplished marine engineer and senior operations executive, bringing over 25 years of leadership experience in the luxury yacht industry. Throughout his career, he has worked with some of the world's most prestigious yachting brands and shipyards, overseeing the design, engineering, production, and operational management of highly customized, high-performance vessels.

He has led multidisciplinary teams, directed complex new product developments, implemented advanced production and ERP systems, and managed key areas such as sea trials, quality assurance, and after-sales service. His expertise spans both technical excellence and strategic operational leadership, positioning him as a key driver of innovation and performance in the marine sector.

Plicchi holds a degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. As a member of the executive leadership team at Sialia Yachts and its parent company, Silent Straits Group, he will play a central role in advancing their strategic vision for operational excellence, innovation, and international growth.
