A high quality fleet of 46 Squibs are gathering in Torquay to compete in the 2025 National Championship. Entries have been received from all parts of the UK and Ireland including Kinsale, Dundee, Edinburgh, Abersoch, East Coast clubs, Weymouth and the Isle of Wight.

Following scrutineering, weighing and launching on Sunday 22 June the Practice Race will take place on Monday immediately followed by the first Points Race. A series of eight races is planned during the week 23-27 June. Best seven results to decide the 2025 champion.

Notable entries are last year's winners Micky Wright crewed by Alex Porteous from Royal Corinthian YC. The Grogans and Malcolm Hutchings also from RCYC. Tom Jeffcote and Mark Hogan from South Caernarvonshire, fresh from their victory in the Irish Nationals in Lough Derg. Past National Champions Mike Budd and Dave Best from SCYC, the Riley's from Oulton Broad and Dick Batt from Royal Victoria YC. With at least another 12 boats in the fleet in contention getting a top 10 place is going to be difficult.

As usual the entry will be split into Gold and Silver fleets after the Tuesday racing and this should allow a more equal distribution of the prizes generously contributed by the sponsors for the event; Batt Sails, Hyde Sails, Harken, Holt, Robline, Stichprint, Sea Sure and Westway Sails.

A full social programme has been organised by the Royal Torbay Yacht Club with a BBQ, Club dinners and the final prize-giving on Friday evening at the Gala dinner.
