Poland's Jakub Surowiec has won his third successive Open division World Champion title at the 2025 Predictwind A-Class Catamaran Championship sailed off Milford Beach, Auckland on Sunday.

He won by 3pts from USA's Ravi Parent, who made a serious bid for the overall title, scoring a first and second, but lost all chance of the title in the first race of the day where he placed 8th - dropped as part of his discard score.

Australia's Darren Bundock pulled out all the stops - winning two races and finishing second in the other. His last day sprint was not enough to get him into title contention, but assured him of third place in the 22 boat fleet of foiling catamarans.

His compatriot Adam Beattie finished fourth overall, dropping from third place on the overnight leaderboard. Former world champion Steve Brewin (AUS) was 5th with New Zealand's Dave Shaw, the top Kiwi in 6th overall.

Sailing got underway around noon in a light seabreeze which filled in nicely making beautiful sailing conditions. Race official were able to conduct three races in the Open fleet, catching up the race dropped on Thursday, and giving both the Open and Classic fleets a 12 race series.

The Classic fleet was decided yesterday when Poland's Jacek Noetzel scored his tenth and final win in the 12 race series. He elected not to start today's races. There was no change in the overnight leaderboard in the Classic (non foiling division) with Jamie Jochheim (AUS) winning Race 12 and placing second in Race 11, to confirm second overall. Class veteran Andrew Landenberger (AUS) was third overall going into the final two races, with New Zealand's Mike Drummond finishing fourth, and top Kiwi in the 29 boat fleet.
