The 7th annual Langstone Harbour Race Weekend is taking place on the 1st- 4th May 2015. For those who have not entered before, the event is hosted by three sailing clubs which share the waters of Langstone Harbour; Locks SC, Langstone SC and Tudor SC. The event invites dinghy sailors from all across the south coast and beyond to compete in the series of exciting races held within the harbour. Each of the 3 days will see a series of handicap and class races for fast & medium fleets. The event organisers are very pleased to be welcoming the Wanderer Class to the event again this year for their national championships, and welcome the 4000, Buzz, ISO and Laser Vago classes who have added the event to their respective circuits.

The event invites dinghy sailors from all across the south coast and beyond to compete in the series of exciting races held within the harbour. This year the race program will follow a new 6 race format with two races per day using simple sausage / triangle / trapezoid courses.

It's not just about racing!

Each club hosts a social event over the weekend (included in the entry fee) and there is something to suit everyone's tastes. Friday evening Tudor SC will start the weekend off with registration and a briefing before laying on a curry night with video and photo show from previous years. Locks SC follow on Saturday evening with a BBQ and Langstone SC take their turn on Sunday night with food and pub quiz. The weekend is rounded off on Monday afternoon with afternoon tea and prize giving ceremony at Tudor SC.

We are really lucky to have such loyal supporters and sponsors, who typically donate some wonderful prizes. The organisers try to award these throughout the fleets, with prizes given not only to those who stand on the podium.

The event enjoys entries of 60+ boats, with a cap of 100 boats placed on the event. Entry Fees for Weekend (including 3 evening socials and tea on Monday):

  • £40 Double-hander
  • £30 Single–hander
Langstone SC are offering FREE camping to competitors, but have asked all campers to pre-book via the online registration form or by mailing a paper copy in advance. Motor-homes are welcome at both Tudor SC and Langstone SC.

A breakfast galley service is also offered at Tudor SC on all three days prior to racing The NOR and online entry is now available from the event website, www.langstonerace.co.uk and why not come and have a look at our facebook page to be kept up to date.
