North Technology Group ("NTG") is proud to announce the purchase of MBrands International B.V the owner of the Magic Marine technical sailing apparel brand and Mystic the kiteboarding accessories brand. These businesses will be held under a new arm of NTG called North Actionsports Group.

Located in The Netherlands MBrands International (B.V). was successfully developed by the Blom family over the last 15 years and Magic Marine is one of the premier brands in technical sailing wear for dinghies and coastal racing and cruising. It is chosen by some of the world's best sailors including former World Champion and Finn sailor Nicholas Heiner, 49er FX Olympic Gold Medalists Martine Grael and Kahena Kunze, Nacra 17 Gold Medalists Santiago Lange and Cecilia Carranza Saroli and Volvo Ocean Race winner Carolijn Brouwer.

Richard Lott, NTG Chief Operating Officer: "We are really excited to bring Magic Marine and Mystic into the North Technology Group. The businesses have a great synergistic fit with our existing North Sails apparel range and our North Kiteboarding business. It also brings a new group of young, skillful and enthusiastic managers into the group and this fits really well with the existing plans to keep developing the skill set of our management team for the future throughout the world"

Max Blom Sr, CEO MBrands International: "After many years of running a family business as well as several other clothing, water and snow sport oriented businesses, the decision to join NTG was obvious and the benefits are self-evident. The combined effect of joining these great brands under one roof, allows us to leverage brand benefits and operational skills on multiple levels. The decision has helped provide a clear direction for the future 15 years of growth for our business."

Max Blom will be staying on as CEO of North Actionsports Group and will lead the development of the opportunities that present themselves. The Katwijk innovation and distribution centre will retain it's central role in innovation of product and close contact with the world class sailor network.

North's Kiteboarding products and brand management will remain based in Auckland, New Zealand but Operations and Sales headquarters will in the future be located in Katwijk, The Netherlands which will become the new global headquarters for North Actionsports. This should provide the ongoing high levels of service that the market demands.

The leadership team behind North Actionsports Group is made up of experienced industry innovators and leaders, determined to make our sports more accessible, sustainable, innovative and exciting.

North Actionsports Group will make further announcements in 2019.
