Australian excellence takes centre stage at the Dubai International Boat Show

by Aimex 6 Mar 2024 17:47 NZDT 28 February - 3 March 2024

The Dubai International Boat Show, renowned as one of the world's most prestigious boat shows in the Middle East, witnessed a showcase of Australian craftsmanship and excellence from February 28 to March 3 at Dubai Harbour. The event, celebrating its 30th edition, welcomed a total of 400 new brands and companies along with exhibitors from more than 55 countries, including first time exhibitor nations Austria, Finland, Sweden and the Republic of Korea.

Representing Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX) and Superyacht Australia, offering an impressive array of products and services, included Anchors & Dove, Australian Superyachts, DOCKPRO, East Coast Marine Centre, Echo Yachts, GME, Maritimo, Nautical Solutions, Pantaenius Yacht Insurance, and Savwinch.

The Dubai International Boat Show provided a platform for these Australian entities to exhibit their expertise, reinforcing Australia's position as a global leader in the marine industry. Visitors to the event had the opportunity to explore and experience firsthand the quality, innovation, and luxury that Australian-made products and services offer along with facilitating valuable networking opportunities and collaborations on an international scale.

"Australia and the United Arab Emirates are currently negotiating a Bilateral Free Trade (Comprehensive Economic Partnership) Agreement and Australian marine exporters are poised to benefit with the growth in the marine industry and the reputation Australian manufacturers have in the region. The Dubai International Boat Show provided our exporters the perfect platform to take advantage of these increased opportunities" David Good, CEO of AIMEX commented.

The Australian Delegation's experience of the Dubai International Boat Show included an exclusive preshow factory tour of Gulf Craft, providing an insight into the intricate design and construction techniques utilised by one of the globe's leading superyacht manufacturers. Richard Morris, Australian Superyachts and Australia's Gulf Craft supplier led the tour and was specifically focused on Gulf Craft's supply chain and how Australian manufacturers are an integral part of this.

"I was very pleased to again host a visit to the Gulf Craft factory in for all the Australian exhibitors attending the Dubai International Boat Show.

Australia is now the biggest emerging market for Majesty and Nomad Yachts, especially due to Gulf Craft's core expertise building AMSA Domestic Commercial Vessel (DCV) certified superyachts.

Additionally, many suppliers of Gulf Craft new build components are Australian and there is plenty of opportunity for more Australian companies to be considered as well. The new Australia-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement will facilitate this even further." Reported Captain Richard Morris, Managing Director - Australian Superyachts

As the Dubai International Boat Show continues to set new standards of excellence in the global marine industry, the presence of Australian companies underscores the country's commitment to innovation, quality, and luxury in maritime offerings.
