On Sunday, May 18, join us for a special Bunch & Learn event, Women on the Water: The History of Female Sailors on the Great Lakes.

Registration is open to any who wish to attend. Conference attendance is not required. Seating is limited.

Enjoy a waterfront brunch at the South Shore Yacht Club while Chicago Maritime Museum Curator, Madeline Crispell, dives into the history of women sailors on the Great Lakes.

Learn the stories of women like Florence Haas (1863-1943), the first woman to be a licensed captain on the Great Lakes, or the all-female crew of the Lady Eileen, who competed in the 1905 Race to Mackinac.

When: Sunday, May 18, 2026, 10 am - Noon (the day after the 2025 MWSC)

Where: South Shore Yacht Club, 2300 E. Nock St., Milwaukee

Cost: $50 per person or $175 for a table of 4. Includes a hot breakfast buffet bar, all taxes and gratuities and a donation to the Chicago Maritime Museum. (Drinks will be available via credit card purchase.
