by Agustín Argüelles 19 Jun 21:39 NZST 16-20 June 2025

With conditions very similar to the previous two days, the third day of racing at the 2025 Suzuki ILCA Master European Championships in Hayling Island concluded with two new races added to the score, bringing the total to six as scheduled.

The wind was slightly stronger today, reaching 12 knots at times and creating small waves.

In the ILCA 6, Canadian sailor Maura Dewey CAN recovered the top position after finishing first and second today. She is now leading both the Overall and Apprentice Master fleets with 9 points, closely followed by Masters' leader Jon Emmett GBR, who holds 11 points. The third position overall is occupied by Ross Harvey GBR with 15 points.

José María Van der Ploeg ESP and Steve Cockerill GBR are in fourth and fifth place overall, leading the GGM and GM championships, respectively. Nicolas Livingstone GBR is in first place in the Legends category (75 years and over), holding 40th position in the overall ranking.

In the ILCA 7, overnight leader Orlando Gledhill GBR strengthened his position by winning two more races (four in a row). He now leads both the Overall and Masters' fleets with 11 points.

The provisional overall podium is now entirely occupied by local sailors, with Nick Harrison GBR (GGM leader) and Mark Lyttle (GM leader) in second and third place, respectively. Ian Elliott SWE is leading the Apprentice Masters.

Racing will continue every day until Friday, June 20th, when the new Master European champions will be crowned. A total of 128 sailors from 19 countries are being part of the competition.
