ePropulsion Americas, the global leader in marine electric propulsion systems and services, announced today the launch the newest iteration of its lightweight electric outboard, the eLite 500W Long Shaft.

Building on the success of the initial launch of the eLite platform, the new and improved eLite Long Shaft is the perfect power option for drift boats and inflatable fishing boats with transoms over 15 inches. The ePropulsion eLite 500W electric outboard is an innovative alternative to small internal combustion engines and the new, upgraded eLite has even more flexibility. In addition, the mounting bracket was re-engineered and the eLite Long Shaft has an enhanced bracket mechanism, and the bracket itself is more durable and easier to use.

“We were thrilled with the industry and market reaction to the launch of our versatile eLite and we’re excited to enhance that line with the introduction of the eLite Long Shaft,” said Tom Watson, President of ePropulsion Americas. “Whether looking for a reliable motor for an inflatable fishing boat or tender, the perfect engine should be lightweight, easy to mount and remove, easy to use and provide the range and speed for almost any conditions. We considered all of this when creating the next generation of the eLite and we’re confident these outboards check all of the boxes.”

The eLite Long Shaft model comes in at 41 inches long and weighs 16.1-pounds, including the built-in battery. It stores easily and the one-click quick-release bracket allows for installation and removal in a matter of seconds, without tools or electrical connections. The tiller handle converts to a perfectly balanced carry handle. The eLite’s direct-drive motor and advanced design propeller deliver high efficiency with near-silent operation. With a focus on minimal maintenance and cutting-edge technology, this addition to the ePropulsion range raises the bar in electric boating standards.

With multiple trim and tilt angles, adjustable steering resistance and shaft length, and a shallow-water mode, the eLite Long Shaft is completely customizable. Its Smart Battery Monitoring System (BMS) efficiently optimizes performance, carefully regulating battery level, temperature, and remaining State-of-Charge – all displayed on an ultra-simple interface – leading to extended range, a more energy-efficient operation and longer battery life. Built to last, it is IP67 waterproof and is constructed of aviation-grade aluminum alloy for lighter weight and greater durability. In addition, the anti-ground auto kick-up feature protects the motor from accidental damage.

The eLite Long Shaft joins ePropulsion’s full line up of established and proven electric outboards, including the 1kW Spirit 1.0 Plus and 1.0 Evo, the 3- or 6kW Navy, the 12- 20- or 40kW X-Series outboards or I-Series inboard motors. In addition, ePropulsion has a full slate of accessories.
