2025 Long Beach Olympic Classes Regatta - Day 7

More adventures for the Olympic Classes Regatta sailors today in Long Beach. The word for the day was, tricky! Waves, winds and shifts gave the best of the class a chance to test their racing and decision-making in unfamiliar conditions.

While perhaps not making their best decisions, they gained a lot of knowledge that they will use during the final day of the Regatta. Five different racing areas are available to provide the best test of skills and decision making.

Sweden's FX team of Vilma Bobeck and Ebba Berntsson while remaining at the top of the leader board, recorded a 5, 1, 8, 2 in their four races. USA's Paris Henken & Helena Scott meanwhile were strong with a 1,5,2,1. While Canada's Georgia and Antonia Lewin-LaFrance sitting in 3rd going into the day finished 4, 3, 3, 6 dropping them into 4th.

On the 49er course in first place and now wearing the Gold bib tomorrow will be USA Nevin Snow & Ian MacDiarmid played the waves and winds for a 3, 1, 1, 2. Austria's Prettner & Flachberger finished with a 5, 2, 8, 6 and will wear the Silver Bib.

The Nacra 17's started in light breeze but finished with 12knts with close starts, tight roundings finding their foils and flying into finishes.

  • 3rd AUT Haberl & Stamminger

The iQFOils had 5 races for Men & Women on slalom courses. USA's Bryn Muller had a tough day in the tricky conditions and will need to climb back up to podium.

49er, FX, iQFOiL Men, iQFOiL Women, NACRA 17 Mixed final day is Sunday, 20th July.
